OUR PROJECTS

Movement

We represent Palestinians before international bodies such as consulates and embassies in order to implement their right to travel for various purposes including tourism, politics, leisure and medical treatment. We also submit visa applications on behalf of Palestinians and work closely together with them through the application process.

Development

Palestinian economic development is often hindered by draconian regulations imposed by Israel. Our task is to use the law to overcome these hurdles that stand in the way of an independent Palestinian economy. This extends to campaigns promoting Palestinian products as well as efforts by farmers and laborers to promote their services. These Limitations has cost the palestinian economy 340 billion dollars a year, according to the World Bank estimates.

Refuseniks

There is currently a handful of Israelis who are imprisoned because of their refusal to serve in the Israeli military. We represent these prisoners and visit them in military prison ('Prison Six' - Confinement Base 396). We attend to a host of issues including sentencing, prison terms and conditions, documentation and political campaigns promoting rights of conscientious objectors.

Activism & Seminars

We hold activist seminars based on the principle and practice of co-resistance. We offer a space for Palestinians, Internationals and Israeli activists to organize grassroots resistance on the ground in Palestine and abroad. This includes workshops, meetings and actions, equipping participants with the requisite knowledge and skills to wage effective campaigns and direct actions. For instance, ways to address and contest human rights violations caused by Israel, and how activists can reach out and work together in a unified front. Our seminars are particularly aimed at practical action to effect change on the ground. Participants should be prepared to engage in practical work, as we believe in the value of peer learning and collective action.

Prisoners

As of 2015 over five thousand Palestinian "security" detainees and political prisoners are held in the custody of the state of Israel.

We offer support to current and former Palestinian prisoners who often face greater obstacles on account of unjust charges meted out by the discriminatory military court system. This can involve, among other issues, cases pertaining to Palestinians who were jailed because of their participation in the popular nonviolent struggle.

Employment

Our employment project involves resisting Israel's oppressive permit regime. We appeal to the Jerusalem district court against the Israeli secret service and police on behalf of Palestinians who work in Israel. These workers are prevented from accessing their existing jobs after years of experience of working in Israel. They are not given any explanation for the prevention except for the standard response of 'classified intelligence information'. This is a default reply given indiscriminately to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.

International Law

International Law is an integral component of the Palestinian struggle. Our legal work in Palestine should resound globally and receive international backing in order to effect pressure on Israel. To this end, we offer legal expertise which is based on our on-the-ground work. In addition, we compile advisory opinions for International tribunals based on our experience. This entails cooperation with international initiatives and contributing to legal proceedings against Israel in the International arena, such as legal actions against Israeli officials and companies.
